Riyadh, March 11, 2026 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) — Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps said Wednesday that two commercial vessels were attacked in the Strait of Hormuz, according to a statement cited by Fars News Agency.
The IRGC said the Thai-flagged bulk carrier “Mayuree Naree” was fired upon after allegedly ignoring warnings and attempting to pass through the strait.
A second vessel, the Liberian-flagged “Express Rome,” was also struck by Iranian projectiles after disregarding warnings from the IRGC Navy, the statement said.
Ship-tracking data from MarineTraffic showed both vessels were located in the Strait of Hormuz earlier in the day.
UK Maritime Trade Operations said at least 13 attacks on vessels have been reported in the Persian Gulf, Strait of Hormuz and Gulf of Oman since the start of the conflict on February 28, including three incidents reported on Wednesday.
Earlier, a spokesperson for Khatam al-Anbiya Headquarters said Iran would not allow oil shipments through the Strait of Hormuz that benefit the United States, Israel or their partners, warning that vessels linked to those countries could be considered targets.
