Two journalists killed in Lebanon strike, Israel says one was Hezbollah-linked

BEIRUT, March 28, 2026 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – Two journalists were killed in an airstrike in southern Lebanon on Saturday, while Israel’s military said one of them, Al-Manar TV correspondent Ali Shoeib, had been targeted over alleged links to Hezbollah. Israel did not provide evidence for the claim.

Hezbollah’s Al-Manar TV said Shoeib was killed in the strike, while Beirut-based Al-Mayadeen TV said its reporter Fatima Ftouni was also killed in the same attack.

The Israeli military said Shoeib had been targeted because he was allegedly linked to Hezbollah and accused him of exposing troop positions in southern Lebanon and maintaining contact with militants. Public Israeli reporting later described him as a member of Hezbollah’s Radwan Force, though the military statement cited in the initial reports did not publicly provide evidence.

Israel’s statement did not mention Ftouni. Al-Manar reported Shoeib’s death and described him as a distinguished correspondent known for professional and credible reporting.
