ISTANBUL, November 3 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan is set to urge swift steps to place Gaza’s governance and security under Palestinian authority during a meeting in Istanbul on Monday, according to a source from Turkey’s foreign ministry.

The talks will bring together the foreign ministers of Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Jordan, Pakistan and Indonesia, focusing on the fragile ceasefire in Gaza and the deteriorating humanitarian situation, the source added.

Fidan is expected to underline the need for a coordinated position among Muslim-majority states to convert the temporary truce into a lasting agreement.

The participating ministers previously convened with U.S. President Donald Trump in New York in September, on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly, where the current Gaza truce was initially discussed. The agreement left key issues unresolved, including Hamas’ disarmament and a timeline for Israeli withdrawal.

Turkey, which encouraged Hamas to accept the U.S.-proposed plan, has signalled readiness to join an international mechanism to monitor the ceasefire. However, tensions between Ankara and Tel Aviv have escalated, with President Tayyip Erdogan strongly criticising Israel’s actions in Gaza.

According to the same source, Fidan will accuse Israel of seeking pretexts to end the truce and call for a firm international response to what he will describe as “provocative actions.” He is also expected to highlight that humanitarian aid to Gaza remains insufficient and that Israel has failed to comply with its obligations.

Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar said last week that Israel would not accept Turkish armed forces as part of any peacekeeping or monitoring force in Gaza.
