UAE Condemns Iranian Missile Attack on ADNOC-Affiliated Carrier

ABU DHABI, August 8 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) — The United Arab Emirates strongly condemned an Iranian missile attack targeting an ADNOC-affiliated carrier as it transited the Strait of Hormuz, saying no injuries were reported.
The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the attack constituted a flagrant violation of UN Security Council Resolution 2817. The ministry said the resolution affirmed the importance of freedom of navigation and rejected attacks on commercial vessels or efforts to obstruct international maritime routes.
The ministry described the targeting of commercial shipping and the use of the Strait of Hormuz for economic coercion or blackmail as acts of piracy by Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps. It said such actions directly threatened regional stability, the region’s populations and global energy security.
The UAE called on Iran to halt what it described as unprovoked attacks, commit to an immediate cessation of all hostilities and reopen the Strait of Hormuz completely and unconditionally.
It said those steps were necessary to safeguard regional security and maintain the stability of the global economy and international trade.
