Saudi Arabia records 22,931 residency, labor and border violations

Riyadh, March 21 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Interior recorded 22,931 violations of residency, labor and border security laws in inspection campaigns carried out across the Kingdom between March 12 and 18, including 17,181 residency violations, 3,931 border security violations and 1,819 labor violations.


Border authorities apprehended 1,635 individuals attempting to enter the Kingdom illegally, including 29% Yemenis, 68% Ethiopians and 3% of other nationalities, while 40 people were arrested for attempting to leave the Kingdom illegally. Authorities also arrested 36 individuals involved in transporting, sheltering and employing violators.


A total of 29,564 expatriates are undergoing procedures to enforce regulations, while 21,133 were directed to contact embassies for travel documents, 3,285 were advised to arrange departures and 8,104 were repatriated. The ministry warned that facilitating violations may result in up to 15 years in prison and fines of up to SAR1 million.
