Saudi Air Defenses Intercept Houthi Ballistic Missile Fired Toward Riyadh

RIYADH, September 19, 2026 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) — Royal Saudi Air Defense Forces intercepted and destroyed a Houthi ballistic missile fired toward Riyadh early Saturday, the Coalition to Restore Legitimacy in Yemen said.
Major General Turki Al-Malki, the coalition’s official spokesperson, said the interception took place at dawn on September 19.
Al-Malki said the Houthi group had continued attempts to target civilians and civilian infrastructure in the Saudi capital.
He also said Saudi air defenses had thwarted separate Houthi attempts directed at Bish, Taif, Farasan and Yanbu.
The coalition spokesperson said its command retained the right to take measures it considered appropriate in response to the attacks.
Any measures would be taken in accordance with international humanitarian law and its customary rules, Al-Malki said.
