Saudi Arabia Warns of Flash Floods as Heavy Rain Forecast Across Most Regions

RIYADH, Saudi Arabia, November 5 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – Saudi Arabia's Civil Defense warned of possible flash floods and hazardous weather conditions across most of the Kingdom from Friday through Tuesday, as meteorologists forecast thunderstorms, heavy rainfall, hail and strong winds.
The General Directorate of Civil Defense urged residents to remain in safe locations, avoid valleys and flood-prone areas, and stay away from floodwaters as unstable weather is expected between November 6 and 10, the Saudi Press Agency reported.
The National Center for Meteorology (NCM) forecast moderate to heavy rainfall in the Makkah Region, with thunderstorms potentially triggering flash floods, hail and strong downdrafts capable of raising dust and sand.
Similar conditions are expected across parts of the Riyadh Region, including Afif, Al-Dawadmi, Shaqra, Thadiq, Al-Ghat, Al-Zulfi, Al-Majma'ah, Rumah and Marat.
Riyadh city, Al-Quwayiyah, Al-Rayn, Dhurma, Al-Hariq and Al-Kharj are forecast to receive light to moderate rainfall.
The weather system is also expected to affect Jazan, Aseer, Al-Baha, Madinah, Hail, Qassim, Al-Jouf, Northern Borders and the Eastern Region, where moderate to heavy rainfall could bring flooding, hail and dust-raising winds.
Civil Defense called on the public to follow official weather warnings and safety instructions issued through government communication channels and social media.
Authorities also warned against entering floodwaters or swimming in areas affected by heavy rainfall.
