Jordanian Security Officer Killed in Amman Stabbing, Suspect Arrested

AMMAN, Jordan, November 5 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – A Jordanian security officer was killed and another wounded in a stabbing attack near the Sri Lankan embassy in Amman on Thursday, with authorities arresting a suspect, Jordan's Public Security Directorate said.
Preliminary investigations indicated that the suspect had planned to carry out what authorities described as a terrorist attack targeting public security personnel, the directorate said.
The attack follows a shooting on October 23 at a church funeral in Jordan's Karak governorate that killed nine people and wounded 40 others.
Authorities have not established whether Thursday's stabbing was connected to the earlier attack, which targeted members of Jordan's Christian minority.
King Abdullah said on Monday that Jordan would not allow terrorist groups to threaten national unity or security, following the church shooting and subsequent Jordanian military strikes in Syria.
