DUBAI, February 5, 2026 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – Global content creators and media figures at the World Governments Summit 2026 said leadership in the digital era is increasingly defined by trust-building, active listening and clear communication, rather than control.
In a session titled “What Does the World Watch Now,” Gallup Chief Executive Jon Clifton joined Raj Shamani, founder of Figuring Out Media, content creator Gstaad Guy and actress Meryem Uzerli to discuss credibility in what speakers described as a growing “trust economy.”
Clifton pointed to declining trust in traditional institutions, especially media, and a shift in attention toward alternative platforms and individual voices. He cited Gallup findings identifying four key factors audiences look for in leaders: trust, empathy, stability and hope.
Uzerli said trust is built through long-term consistency between words, actions and values, adding that emotional transparency has stronger impact than projecting perfection. She also stressed maintaining boundaries between public engagement and private life.
Gstaad Guy said humor can simplify complex topics and build trust without direct confrontation, while warning that algorithm-driven platforms reward delivery quality to the point where weak messages can outperform stronger ones if better presented.
Shamani said trust is built through listening and audience understanding, not volume, and called for “structured honesty” that acknowledges crises while offering direction. He added that younger audiences are seeking shared agency and meaningful engagement rather than authority alone.
The World Governments Summit 2026 brought together more than 60 heads of state and government and their deputies, over 500 ministers and representatives from more than 150 governments, with more than 6,250 participants and over 445 sessions.
