Riyadh, March 25, 2026 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez said on Wednesday it was unjust for citizens around the world to bear the cost of what he described as illegal U.S. and Israeli actions in Iran, warning that the war was causing severe global economic damage.

Sanchez told lawmakers that every bomb falling in the Middle East was hitting household finances, adding that Spanish companies had lost 100 billion euros in market value since the conflict began on February 28. The figure referred to the decline in the aggregate market capitalisation of Spain’s benchmark IBEX index.

Spain’s parliament is expected to vote on Thursday on measures proposed by the government to help citizens cope with the economic fallout, including lower fuel and electricity taxes and fuel subsidies for sectors most exposed to higher energy prices.

Sanchez also said Israel was seeking to inflict on Lebanon the same scale of destruction it had brought to Gaza, and accused Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of aiming to bring similar suffering to Lebanon.
