Saudi wildlife center signs two MoUs on biodiversity, training and research

RIYADH, May 4 — Saudi Arabia’s National Center for Wildlife Development signed two memorandums of understanding during Environment Week in Riyadh to strengthen cooperation in wildlife and biodiversity.


The agreements were signed with the National Academy for the Environment and the Saudi Rural Academy, according to the official statement.


The memorandum with the National Academy for the Environment aims to enhance cooperation on projects and initiatives and strengthen integration in education, training, capacity development and scientific research.


The agreement also includes exchange of expertise and the development of academic and training programs in wildlife-related fields.


A second memorandum signed with the Saudi Rural Academy focuses on programs and initiatives aimed at supporting small-scale farmers and producers through activities and projects that support the sustainability of the rural sector.


The cooperation with the Saudi Rural Academy also includes training programs, capacity building and applied studies related to biodiversity.


Officials said the two agreements are part of the center’s efforts to strengthen national partnerships supporting wildlife conservation and ecosystem development in the Kingdom.
