Workshop Details Licensing Process for Saudi Falcon Breeding Centers
RIYADH, August 24 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) — License applications for falcon breeding centers in Saudi Arabia are reviewed within five working days under a digital process presented at a workshop organized during the International Falcon Breeders Auction 2026.
The National Center for Falcons hosted the workshop, titled Licensing Mechanism for Falcon Breeding Centers in the Kingdom, as part of the auction’s activities.
Mohammed Al-Muqrin, Director of Licensing and Permits at the National Center for Wildlife Development, outlined the procedure for establishing and operating a breeding center.
Applicants begin by submitting a request through the Fitri platform. A specialist reviews the application and verifies that its requirements have been completed before sending it to the relevant department for final approval. The applicant then pays the required fee and receives the license.
The supporting documents include an application form, a breeding-center project plan, environmental impact assessment documentation based on the project’s classification, a site map and related information, applicant identification or commercial registration, and proof of land ownership or a lease agreement.
The regulatory framework is intended to support responsible breeding, species conservation, genetic diversity, animal welfare and compliance with oversight requirements.
More than 531,000 licenses and permits have been issued through the Fitri platform, which has over 135,000 users. Beneficiary satisfaction stands at 92.2%, while the average license issuance time is 4.5 days.
The platform recorded a 39% annual increase in licenses. Its figures cover multiple wildlife services and are not limited to falcon breeding.
Fitri provides licenses and permits for wildlife imports, exports, transportation, display and breeding. It also offers falcon passport services.
The platform is digitally connected with several government systems to reduce administrative time and simplify procedures for applicants.
