Saudi Employers Face Fines of Up to SAR100,000 for Labor Violations

RIYADH, September 21, 2026 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) — Saudi establishments may face fines of up to SAR100,000 for employing expatriates who violate residency or labor regulations, the Ministry of Interior said on Monday.
The penalties also apply to establishments that allow their workers to work independently or for other parties, as well as those employing workers sponsored by another employer.
Additional sanctions may include a ban on recruiting workers for up to five years and publication of the establishment’s name.
The manager responsible for the violation may receive a prison sentence of up to one year. Managers who are expatriates may also be deported.
The ministry said fines would be multiplied according to the number of workers involved.
It called for compliance with residency, labor and border security regulations.
