Riyadh, March 4, 2026 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – Saudi Arabia’s cabinet, chaired by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud in a session held by video link on Tuesday, reviewed the latest developments in the region and their implications for regional and international security and stability.
The cabinet said Saudi Arabia will take all necessary measures to defend its security and protect its territory, citizens and residents, according to Saudi Press Agency.
It welcomed condemnation by leaders of sister and friendly states of what it described as Iranian attacks targeting Saudi Arabia, Gulf Cooperation Council states and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, and reaffirmed the kingdom’s full solidarity with countries whose territories were attacked. The cabinet said Saudi Arabia would mobilize its capabilities to support those states in steps they take in response.
The cabinet also reviewed arrangements provided to Gulf Cooperation Council citizens stranded at Saudi airports, including hospitality and facilitation until conditions allow their safe return.
Information Minister Salman bin Yousef Al-Dossary said the cabinet discussed outcomes of Saudi participation in regional and international meetings, and expressed hope that results of the exceptional meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation would strengthen coordination among member states in support of Palestinian rights.
The cabinet described Saudi Arabia’s new economic support for Yemen’s state budget as an extension of support for the Yemeni people and stability, and cited progress on plans to raise gas production, including the start of first-phase production at the Jafurah field and the start of operations at the Tanajib gas plant.
The cabinet approved a series of agreements and policy decisions, including memoranda of understanding with multiple countries across energy, tourism, investment, standards, broadcasting and anti-corruption cooperation, as well as national policies on healthy nutrition and child protection in educational institutions.
