JEDDAH, July 14, Saudi Arabia Breaking News — Saudi Arabia’s Cabinet strongly condemned repeated Iranian attacks against commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz and countries across the Gulf and wider region during a session chaired by Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman in Jeddah on Tuesday.

The Cabinet condemned attacks against Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Oman and Jordan and rejected Iran’s continued destabilizing actions in the region.

It said the attacks violated international law, the charters of the United Nations and Organization of Islamic Cooperation, and the principles of good neighborliness.

The Crown Prince briefed ministers on his telephone call with US President Donald Trump, during which the two leaders reviewed bilateral cooperation, regional and international issues, and efforts to support regional security and stability.

He also informed the Cabinet about his discussions with Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney, which focused on strengthening Saudi-Canadian relations across all sectors in line with Saudi Vision 2030 and Canada’s growth agenda.

The Cabinet welcomed memoranda signed during Carney’s official visit, including the establishment of the Saudi-Canadian Coordination Council and cooperation in energy, artificial intelligence investment and skills development.

It also praised the Saudi Arabia-Canada Investment Forum, which produced trade and investment agreements covering mining, engineering, infrastructure, advanced industries, education, financial services and information and communications technology.

The Cabinet welcomed Iraq’s renewed commitment not to allow its territory or airspace to be used for attacks against Saudi Arabia, GCC member states or other countries in the region. It also supported continued Saudi-Iraqi coordination.

Ministers welcomed the US announcement that procedures had begun to remove Syria from the list of state sponsors of terrorism, a designation imposed in 1979.

The Cabinet reiterated Saudi Arabia’s support for steps by the Syrian government to strengthen security, build state institutions and meet the aspirations of its people.

During the session, the Cabinet authorized or approved cooperation agreements with Guatemala, Albania and Armenia and memoranda covering internal auditing with Türkiye, geological cooperation with Iraq, and anti-corruption efforts with Brazil and Côte d’Ivoire.

Additional agreements addressed auditing cooperation with North Macedonia, non-profit sector development with Bahrain and Singapore, and Arabic-language cooperation between the King Salman Global Academy for Arabic Language and the GCC General Secretariat.
