New York, Sept 22, 2025 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – On behalf of His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Saudi Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah chaired the opening session of the High-Level International Conference for the Peaceful Settlement of the Question of Palestine and the Implementation of the Two-State Solution, co-chaired with French President Emmanuel Macron at the United Nations headquarters in New York.
In his address, Prince Faisal conveyed the greetings of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince, expressing their wishes for the success of the conference. He thanked President Macron, UN Secretary-General António Guterres, and the President of the General Assembly for their roles in convening what he described as a pivotal opportunity to achieve peace and reaffirm the international commitment to the two-state solution.
Prince Faisal said the conference is taking place as the Israeli occupation authorities continue their aggressive practices, including attacks in Gaza, violations in the West Bank and Jerusalem, and repeated assaults on the sovereignty of Arab and Islamic states, most recently against Qatar. He warned that these actions undermine peace efforts, threaten regional and global security, and reinforce the conviction that the two-state solution remains the only path to a just and lasting settlement.
He commended the recognition of the State of Palestine by President Macron and other countries, highlighting the broad support for the UN General Assembly’s adoption of the New York Declaration on Palestine, endorsed by 142 member states. This, he said, reflects the will of the international community to uphold Palestinian rights in line with international resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative.
Concluding his remarks, the foreign minister reaffirmed Saudi Arabia’s determination to work with France and peace-supporting nations to implement the conference outcomes, end the war in Gaza, halt unilateral measures threatening Palestinian sovereignty, and establish an independent Palestinian state on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital. He also renewed the call for more countries to recognize Palestine, stressing that such recognition would strengthen efforts toward lasting peace and stability in the Middle East.
The session was attended by senior Saudi officials, including Princess Reema bint Bandar bin Sultan, Ambassador to the United States; Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and Climate Envoy Adel Al-Jubeir; Minister of Economy and Planning Faisal Alibrahim; Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Rassi, Undersecretary for Multilateral International Affairs; Prince Musab bin Mohammed Al Farhan, Advisor for Political Affairs; Dr. Abdulaziz bin Mohammed Alwasil, Permanent Representative to the United Nations; and Dr. Manal Radwan, Minister Plenipotentiary.
