Riyadh, March 5, 2026 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – Satellite images from several military bases in the Arabian Peninsula suggest that Iran may be targeting U.S.-made radar systems used to detect incoming missiles and drones, according to analysis cited by CNN.

Images indicate that buildings housing similar radar systems were hit at two locations in the United Arab Emirates, although it remains unclear whether the equipment was damaged.

A radar system supporting an American THAAD missile defense battery in Jordan also appeared to have been struck and possibly destroyed during the first days of U.S.-Israeli strikes on Iran, according to a satellite image taken on Monday.

The system was located at Muwaffaq Salti Air Base in Jordan, more than 500 miles from Iran.

The radar forms a key component of the THAAD missile defense system, which is designed to intercept and destroy ballistic missiles during flight. According to the U.S. Missile Defense Agency’s 2025 budget documents, the radar costs close to $500 million.

Experts say that damaging the radar would not render the THAAD system completely inoperable, as other assets and configurations can support the system, but it could reduce operational capability and flexibility.

The United Arab Emirates said in a statement that it remains fully prepared to address any threats.
