MOSCOW, June 17 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) - Russia is introducing restrictions on flights by light private aircraft and drones in Moscow and surrounding regions, Reuters reported.
The measures set a minimum altitude requirement of 5,200 meters, or 17,000 feet, aviation authority Rosaviatsiya announced on Wednesday.
The requirement applies to light and ultralight aircraft, as well as drones, placing the permitted altitude beyond the reach of most such aircraft.
The restrictions will apply in Moscow and the Moscow region, with more limited measures in the Ryazan, Tula, Kaluga, Tver, Yaroslavl and Vladimir regions.
The rules will come into force on June 20.
Regular passenger and charter flights will continue to operate as normal.
Russia has in recent months regularly repelled Ukrainian drone attacks, particularly targeting areas around Moscow.
