Saudi Arabia Takes First Place at INSO 2026 With Four International Awards

JEDDAH, August 9 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) — Saudi Arabia took first place at the International Nuclear Science Olympiad 2026, securing the title of “Nuclear Science Ambassador” and four international awards.
The Kingdom’s awards comprised two gold medals, one silver medal and one bronze medal.
Jeddah hosted the third edition of the olympiad from August 2 to 9, marking the first time the event was held in the Middle East. The competition brought together 120 students and scientific specialists representing 19 countries.
Mawhiba Secretary-General Abdulaziz Al-Karidis said the result reflected the Saudi leadership’s support for developing citizens’ capabilities and enabling them to compete internationally in priority scientific fields. He said those efforts contributed to building a knowledge-based, innovation-driven economy.
Al-Karidis also said the students’ results and Saudi Arabia’s hosting of the event demonstrated the development of the national talent and creativity ecosystem, the effectiveness of scientific team preparation programs and the Kingdom’s ability to organize major international scientific events.
The Saudi Ministry of Education, Mawhiba and King Abdullah City for Atomic and Renewable Energy jointly organized INSO 2026. King Abdulaziz University hosted the event under the slogan “Bright Minds, Promising Future.”
