Riyadh airport leads performance rankings in GACA’s September report

Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, November 3 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – The General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) has released its monthly performance report for September 2025, evaluating the Kingdom’s domestic and international airports based on 11 key indicators aimed at enhancing passenger services and overall airport experience.

Airports were divided into five categories. In the category of international airports handling more than 15 million passengers annually, King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh ranked first with a compliance rate of 82%. King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah placed second, also recording an 82% rate, though Riyadh outperformed Jeddah in meeting specific service standards.

In the category of international airports handling between 5 and 15 million passengers annually, King Fahd International Airport in Dammam ranked first with a 91% compliance rate. Prince Mohammad Bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Madinah recorded the same rate, but Dammam outperformed it in meeting required standards.

Abha International Airport topped the third category – airports handling between 2 and 5 million passengers annually – with a 100% compliance rate, leading in departure and arrival waiting times. In the category for airports handling fewer than 2 million passengers annually, Qaisumah International Airport also achieved a 100% compliance rate and ranked first in passenger waiting times.

GACA’s evaluation framework measures 11 key performance criteria, including passenger waiting times during travel procedures, baggage claim duration, passport control and customs processing, and services for passengers with disabilities, in line with international benchmarks.
