Doha, September 15, 2025 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani condemned the Israeli strike on Doha as a “treacherous attack” that shocked the world, telling Arab and Islamic leaders on Monday that his country will do everything permitted under international law to defend its sovereignty.
Addressing the emergency Arab-Islamic Summit hosted in Doha, Sheikh Tamim said the strike targeted a residential neighborhood that included schools and diplomatic missions, killing six people – among them a Qatari citizen serving in the Internal Security Forces – and injuring 18 others.
He said the attack occurred on September 9 while Hamas’ political leadership was studying an American proposal conveyed by Qatar and Egypt. “If Israel wants to assassinate the political leadership of Hamas, then why does it negotiate with it?” Sheikh Tamim asked.
He accused Israel of repeatedly imposing faits accomplis on the Arab world. “The government of Israel believes it places the Arabs before a fait accompli each time, then follows them with new ones, so they drop the old and negotiate over the new,” he said.
The Emir added that had Israel accepted the Arab Peace Initiative, “it would have spared the region and itself countless tragedies.”
