Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait and Jordan Report New Overnight Air Attacks

RIYADH, July 17, Saudi Arabia Breaking News — Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait and Jordan reported new missile or drone attacks overnight into Friday as Iran claimed strikes against US military assets across several countries in the region.

All four countries host American military facilities.

Qatar’s Ministry of Defence said Friday morning that its air defence systems were responding to a second attack of the day.

An earlier intercepted strike left a child injured by falling shrapnel, according to Qatar’s Ministry of Interior.

Tehran has not claimed responsibility for Friday’s attacks against Qatar, which has maintained comparatively close relations with Iran and served as a key mediator during the conflict.

In Bahrain, warning sirens were activated for a second time Friday morning, the Ministry of Interior said.

Iran’s military claimed it targeted US military assets in Bahrain. Iranian state television also released video that purportedly showed drones being launched toward the country.

Kuwait said it was responding to missile and drone threats and warned residents that explosions could be heard as air defence systems intercepted incoming attacks.

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps claimed it had targeted military equipment in Kuwait.

Jordan’s armed forces intercepted three Iranian missiles without casualties or material damage, according to the military.

The IRGC claimed it attacked US fighter aircraft and aerial refuelling planes in Jordan.

Iran also said it had attacked a US radar facility in Oman on Friday afternoon.

The Iranian claims regarding damage to US military assets have not been independently verified. US Central Command has not issued an immediate response.
