Iranian Media Identifies Gulf Ports as Potential Retaliation Targets After Chabahar Strike

PARIS, July 17, Saudi Arabia Breaking News — Iran could target a network of major ports across Gulf states in response to US strikes on Chabahar, the semi-official Fars news agency reported Friday.
“Following the attack on Chabahar, five key regional ports are within range of a response,” Fars said.
The agency claimed the strike had “effectively presented Tehran with a list of vital commercial ports hosting US interests across the region.”
The sites identified included Jebel Ali Port in the United Arab Emirates and Mina Salman in Bahrain, where the US Navy’s Fifth Fleet is headquartered.
Fars also listed Kuwait’s Shuaiba Port and Camp Arifjan, which it described as a forward headquarters for US Central Command’s land forces.
Six American personnel were killed in a missile attack on Shuaiba earlier in the conflict.
Qatar’s Hamad Port and King Fahd Industrial Port in Yanbu, on Saudi Arabia’s Red Sea coast, were also identified in the report.
Yanbu has become Saudi Arabia’s principal crude export outlet during the war as maritime traffic through the Strait of Hormuz remains severely disrupted.
Its terminals, including King Fahd Industrial Port, provide the Kingdom with an alternative export corridor that has helped maintain global oil supplies and limit price increases.
