Paris, September 8, 2025 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – In a first-of-its-kind partnership, La Galerie Dior at the brand’s historic flagship in Paris has teamed up with the Azzedine Alaia Foundation to stage a dual exhibition showcasing Alaia’s vast collection of vintage Dior, WWD reported.

The late Tunisian-born couturier Azzedine Alaia, who kept his collection private during his lifetime, amassed around 600 pieces of vintage Dior. Most were designed by founder Christian Dior, alongside designs from his successors Yves Saint Laurent, Marc Bohan, Gianfranco Ferré, and John Galliano.

From December 1 to May 3, the Azzedine Alaia Foundation will display 30 Dior pieces collected by Alaia, alongside a similar number of his own designs. The exhibition forms part of its series exploring how Alaia drew inspiration from the designers he admired.

Dior said in a statement that Alaia, briefly employed by the house in 1956, retained “fond memories of the demanding workshops on Avenue Montaigne.”

Both shows are curated by Olivier Saillard, director of the Azzedine Alaia Foundation, in collaboration with Gael Mamine. Saillard noted: “Christian Dior’s models testify to the relentless quest that Azzedine Alaia has unwaveringly set his heart upon.”

Alaia’s collection was first presented publicly in 2023 at the Palais Galliera in Paris. Dior has previously worked with Saillard on publications, including Assouline’s series of books on the house’s creative directors.

The partnership will also include exhibition catalogues: Rizzoli will release “Azzedine Alaia’s Dior Collection” on November 19, while Damiani will publish “Azzedine Alaia and Christian Dior, Two Masters of Couture” in December.
