Al-Baha’s Audiovisual Heritage Records Generations of Community Life

AL-BAHA, October 27 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – Old photographs, audio recordings and documentaries preserve accounts of community life in Al-Baha, documenting how people built their homes, cultivated the land and maintained local traditions.

Images and recordings of historic villages, agricultural terraces and popular markets show the relationship between residents and their environment. They also trace changes in daily life across the region over several decades.
Oral traditions and performing arts form another part of this record, preserving voices and practices through which younger generations can explore their cultural roots.
The World Day for Audiovisual Heritage, observed on October 27, highlights the importance of protecting these materials from deterioration and loss. In Al-Baha, their preservation helps maintain access to the region’s social and cultural history.
