RIYADH, October 26 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) - A young peregrine falcon caught by nine trappers in Al-Muwailih sold for SAR211,000 on the ninth night of the 2026 National Center for Falcons Auction, after bidding opened at SAR100,000.
Known locally as a farkh shaheen, the bird met the auction’s criteria, which limit entries to young migratory peregrine falcons caught in Saudi Arabia.
The auction excludes adult peregrine falcons and saker falcons to help preserve their populations. It runs until November 30.
The National Center for Falcons provides trappers with accommodation and transportation to the venue. Auction sessions are broadcast live on television and social media.
