Saudi Arabia Launches Absher Travel Service for Land Border Visitors

RIYADH, October 26 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) - Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Interior launched a digital service on Monday allowing GCC nationals and other visitors entering through the Kingdom’s land borders to complete travel and vehicle procedures before arrival.

The “Absher Travel for Visitors” service is available through the Absher app at all Saudi land border crossings. Its use will become mandatory for visitors six months after launch.

Travelers can register their personal and vehicle information and obtain vehicle insurance digitally before reaching the border.

To use the service, visitors select “Absher Travel for Visitors” in the app before their trip, choose their nationality and enter their mobile number and travel document type. They then specify the border crossing and expected travel date before completing the traveler, vehicle and insurance details.

The Ministry of Interior launched the service in partnership with the ministries of Foreign Affairs and Tourism, the Saudi Data and AI Authority, the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority, the Communications, Space and Technology Commission, the Insurance Authority, the General Directorate of Passports and Public Security.

The ministry said the service aims to automate entry procedures and improve visitors’ experience at land crossings.
