WASHINGTON, November 3 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – NASA moved to correct claims by American media personality Kim Kardashian after she publicly suggested that the 1969 Apollo 11 moon landing may have been staged, resurrecting a decades-old conspiracy theory.

In the latest episode of her Hulu reality series, The Kardashians, Kardashian told viewers she believed the moon landing, carried out by astronauts Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin and watched live by millions worldwide, “didn’t happen,” basing her view on a misinterpreted video clip of Aldrin responding to an audience question.

NASA’s acting administrator and U.S. Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy responded directly to Kardashian’s remarks on Thursday via X, writing: “Yes, @KimKardashian, we’ve been to the Moon before… 6 times!”

Duffy added that the United States is preparing to return to the lunar surface. Under the Artemis program, a crewed mission around the Moon is planned in 2026, followed by a landing in 2027, as part of the space agenda of President Donald Trump’s administration.

“Aldrin’s remarks were taken out of context,” Duffy said, adding that he remained confident in the mission’s legacy and future goals. “We won the last space race and we will win this one too,” he wrote.

Kardashian’s comments stemmed from a 2015 appearance by Aldrin at the Oxford Union, where he was asked about the “scariest moment” of Apollo 11. Aldrin responded: “There was no scary moment, because it didn’t happen,” before clarifying that nothing frightening occurred during the mission, contrary to expectations.

Buzz Aldrin, now 95, has previously dismissed claims denying the lunar landing. Neither NASA nor Kardashian’s representatives have issued further statements.

The 1969 Apollo 11 mission saw humans land on the Moon for the first time, with six successful crewed landings following until 1972.
