Riyadh, February 18, 2026 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – The King Abdulaziz Public Library will open a specialized exhibition on horses and equestrianism on Tuesday to mark Founding Day.
The exhibition will be held at the library’s Khurais Road branch and is scheduled to run until the end of August 2026. It will feature an extensive collection of the library’s holdings on equestrian history, including manuscripts, photographs, historical documents, Islamic miniatures, and illustrated books.
Since its establishment 40 years ago, the library has focused on preserving Saudi Arabia’s equestrian heritage. A dedicated equestrian center within the library houses more than 12,000 items, including rare Arabic and international publications on horses.
The exhibition also highlights a collection of rare photographs taken by Princess Alice of Britain during her visit to Saudi Arabia in 1938, providing a historical perspective on equestrianism in the Kingdom.
Officials noted that the exhibition aims to showcase the cultural significance of horses in Saudi heritage and provide researchers, students, and visitors with access to one of the most comprehensive equestrian archives in the region.
