MADINAH, July 25 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) — The Arees Well in Quba, widely known as the Well of the Ring, is linked to the loss of a silver ring once used by the Prophet Muhammad to seal official letters, according to historical sources.

The ring carried the inscription “Muhammad, the Messenger of Allah.” Following the Prophet’s death, it was entrusted successively to the caliphs Abu Bakr, Umar and Uthman.

Around 30 AH, the ring accidentally slipped from Uthman’s hand and fell into the well. Searches continued for several days, but the ring was never recovered, making its disappearance one of the most notable events recorded in early Islamic Madinah.

The site also holds religious significance through a narration recorded in Sahih Al-Bukhari. The account states that the Prophet sat beside the well and gave Abu Bakr, Umar and Uthman glad tidings of Paradise, securing the location’s revered place in Islamic history.
