International Falcon Breeders Auction Sales Top SAR13 Million as Global Participation Grows
RIYADH, July 27, Saudi Arabia Breaking News – Sales at the International Falcon Breeders Auction rose 23% to more than SAR13 million in 2025 as the event attracted a larger number of breeding farms and participating countries.
The number of falcons sold increased 27% to 1,103, compared with 872 in 2024, when total sales exceeded SAR10 million.
International participation also expanded last year, with 67 breeding farms from 23 countries joining the auction. The figures represented annual increases of 20% in participating farms and 21% in countries represented.
In 2024, the event hosted 56 farms from 19 countries. A total of 19 Saudi breeding farms participated in the 2025 edition.
The results continued a multi-year rise in auction activity. Sales exceeded SAR8 million from 642 falcons in 2023 before increasing to more than SAR10 million from 872 falcons in 2024.
The auction has gained further importance among falconers following an announcement by the National Center for Wildlife that all rounds of its competitions will be reserved for juvenile falcons, known as farkh, purchased through the event.
By connecting local and international breeding farms with falconers, buyers and investors, the auction has helped develop falconry beyond its heritage role into an organized international market with growing economic and cultural value.
