Jazan Urban Observatory Joins UN-Habitat Global Network
JAZAN, September 21, 2026 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) — The Jazan Region Urban Observatory has joined the Global Urban Observatory Network affiliated with the United Nations Human Settlements Programme, the Saudi Press Agency reported.
Jazan Governor Prince Mohammed bin Abdulaziz bin Mohammed bin Abdulaziz received the certificate confirming the observatory’s membership.
Prince Mohammed also chairs the Supervisory Committee of the Jazan Region Development Strategic Office.
The membership will support the development of urban indicators based on international standards and practices covering sustainable urban development and quality of life.
The observatory will align its data and indicators with Jazan’s strategic development priorities and Saudi Vision 2030 objectives.
Membership will also allow the observatory to exchange knowledge and practices with other institutions in the network and draw on international experience in developing urban indicator systems.
