DUBAI, May 27 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) — Iran is preparing to hold a memorial service for the wife and relatives of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei, who were killed in February airstrikes at the start of the war, state-affiliated media reported.

The ceremony is expected to take place from Thursday to Friday at the Shah Abdol-Azim Hasani Shrine in Tehran, according to Nour News.

Khamenei’s wife, Zahra Haddad Adel, his sister, brother-in-law and niece were killed in the same February strikes that targeted the residence of his father, then-Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

Ali Khamenei, who had ruled Iran for nearly four decades, was also killed in the strikes, along with several senior regime figures.

Mojtaba Khamenei was later chosen to succeed his father as supreme leader but has not appeared in public since the war began, issuing only written messages.

He was also wounded in the February 28 airstrikes, prompting speculation about the extent of his injuries.

Iran’s Health Ministry this week said Khamenei sustained only superficial injuries to his face, head and legs, rejecting Western media reports that one of his limbs had been amputated.
