"Iran's air force has been wiped out. Iran no longer has an air defense, any sort of a comprehensive air defense system. We own their skies. Their missile program is functionally destroyed. Launchers, production facilities and existing stockpiles depleted and decimated and almost completely ineffective.
WASHINGTON, April 8 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) - U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said on Wednesday that U.S. strikes had destroyed Iran’s air defense system and severely weakened its missile program.
Speaking at the Pentagon, Hegseth said Washington had achieved a “decisive military victory” in its operation against Iran.
"(Iran) can no longer build missiles, build rockets, build launchers, or build UAVs. Their factories have been razed to the ground."
He said Iran no longer had a comprehensive air defense system and described its missile program as “functionally destroyed,” with launchers, production facilities and stockpiles heavily damaged.
Hegseth added that 800 strikes carried out on Tuesday night had destroyed Iran’s industrial base for missiles, rockets, launchers and unmanned aerial vehicles.
He also said the United States had used less than 10% of its combat power in the conflict.
Iran did not immediately comment.
