RIYADH, June 26 — The ABB FIA Formula E World Championship has unveiled its largest calendar, with a record 21 races across 13 cities for the 2026–2027 season, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) said.
The season will open in Saudi Arabia with two night races at the Jeddah Corniche Circuit on December 18 and 19, 2026.
The championship will also mark the debut of the sustainable GEN4 car, a 600 kW vehicle producing more than 815 horsepower and built from 100% recyclable or reusable materials.
Formula E will introduce a dynamic double-race weekend format during the season, pairing the classic E-Prix with a shorter, high-speed race titled “E-Prix Unleashed”.
To accommodate the GEN4 car’s increased power, the championship will expand its use of permanent, world-class tracks while maintaining its city-racing identity.
New additions to the calendar include the Circuit of the Americas in Austin and the MASCOT Zandvoort Circuit in the Netherlands. The London E-Prix will move to Brands Hatch.
The season will continue across the Americas, Europe and Asia, with regional scheduling aimed at reducing shipping emissions. It will conclude in July 2027 with double-headers in Shanghai and Tokyo.
