Etihad to fly twice daily between Abu Dhabi and Sydney from December 15
ABU DHABI, September 28, 2026 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) — Etihad Airways will increase its Abu Dhabi–Sydney service to two flights a day from December 15, 2026, adding four weekly flights to bring the route to 14, WAM reported.
All flights will use Airbus A350-1000 aircraft. Etihad said the expanded schedule would offer more than 5,000 seats a week in each direction.
The additional service will give passengers more connections through Abu Dhabi across Etihad’s network. Travellers arriving in Sydney can connect to other destinations in Australia and New Zealand through the airline’s interline partners Qantas, Jetstar and Air New Zealand.
Passengers connecting through Abu Dhabi can also use Etihad’s stopover programme, which offers complimentary hotel accommodation for one or two nights and now includes Al Ain.
Etihad’s chief revenue and commercial officer, Arik De, said the second daily service would give passengers more flexibility when travelling between Australia and the airline’s international network.
