Arada submits plans for AED12 billion Thameside West project in London
LONDON, September 28, 2026 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) — Arada has submitted planning applications to the London Borough of Newham for Thameside West, a Royal Docks regeneration project with an estimated development value of AED12 billion, WAM reported.
The plans cover the first stage of a development that could deliver at least 5,000 homes. That stage proposes nearly 1,500 homes across six buildings. The first two buildings would be used entirely for social-rent housing, including family homes.
Arada’s proposals also include a seven-acre park, around 1,000 trees, smaller gardens and a one-kilometre waterfront. The company is holding workshops with local residents to help shape part of the park.
Arada is working with Transport for London on the design of a new Docklands Light Railway station, intended to open when the development’s first residents arrive. The project is being developed in partnership with the Greater London Authority’s Royal Docks Team.
Arada Group CEO Ahmed Alkhoshaibi said the plans put nature and public space at the centre of the development. Tom Copley, London’s Deputy Mayor for Housing and Residential Development, said the project would help provide social-rent and family housing.
