AL-HADITHA, August 28 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) — The Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority intercepted 1,950,581 amphetamine pills at Al-Haditha Port during an attempt to smuggle them into Saudi Arabia.

Security screening and inspection uncovered the pills inside a shipment of lentils carried by an incoming truck, ZATCA spokesperson Hamoud Al-Harbi said.

Al-Harbi said the authority is tightening customs controls at Saudi Arabia’s land, sea and air ports in coordination with the General Directorate of Narcotics Control to protect society from narcotics.

He called on the public to report suspicious activity through the security hotline 1910, by email at 1910@zatca.gov.sa or through the international number 009661910. Reports are handled confidentially, and financial rewards are available for confirmed information.
