Riyadh to host “WICKED” musical for the first time in the Middle East

Riyadh, September 29 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – The Royal Commission for Riyadh City (RCRC), in collaboration with Broadway Entertainment Group, announced on Sunday that the world-renowned musical “WICKED” will be staged in Riyadh for the first time in the Middle East.
Performances will take place at the King Fahad Cultural Center from December 3 to 20, 2025, marking the start of the production’s regional tour. The event is part of RCRC’s efforts to attract world-class cultural and artistic experiences in line with Saudi Vision 2030.
Engineer Khalid bin Abdullah Alhazani, Vice President of the Lifestyle Sector at RCRC, said the production reinforces the commission’s commitment to providing high-quality cultural and entertainment options for all segments of society under the Quality of Life Program.
Stephen Schwartz, Composer and Lyricist of “WICKED,” welcomed the Riyadh debut, saying the production celebrates friendship, love, and the courage to defend values and principles.
“WICKED” is one of the world’s most successful musicals, with more than 70 million viewers in over 130 cities across 25 countries. The Riyadh performances will feature more than 100 artists, technicians, and orchestra members, with large-scale stage designs, over 350 costumes, and its most iconic musical numbers, including Defying Gravity, Popular, and For Good.
