Washington, March 2, 2026 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – The United States Department of State urged U.S. citizens on Monday to “DEPART NOW” from countries across the Middle East due to what it called serious safety risks.
A post on X by the department’s top official for consular affairs urged Americans to depart using available commercial travel from Bahrain, Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Israel, the West Bank and Gaza Strip, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Syria, the United Arab Emirates and Yemen.
“Americans who need State Department assistance arranging to depart via commercial means, CALL US 24/7 at +1-202-501-4444 from abroad and +1-888-407-4747 from the U.S. and Canada,” Mora Namdar wrote. The post also urged citizens to enrol in the STEP program at step.state.gov for security updates.
The message came as Iranian strikes hit multiple countries across the region in response to U.S. and Israeli military operations, after some countries urged Americans to shelter in place.
