US officials prepare for possible suicide attacks abroad, sources say

Washington, March 1, 2026 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – U.S. officials are preparing for possible suicide attacks, as well as additional retaliatory missile strikes, targeting American facilities and personnel abroad in response to the ongoing military operation in Iran, a source familiar with the planning said.

Potential threats also include vehicle-borne improvised explosive devices, with the highest concerns centred on Tel Aviv, Jerusalem and Qatar.

Security has been increased at some U.S. government agency headquarters and other domestic locations considered potential targets, the source added.

The FBI has asked agents in recent days to keep closer watch on people of interest inside the United States who could be activated by the strikes in Iran, CNN reported, citing a source familiar with the plan. The effort was described as routine after U.S. military action abroad, with no indication at this time of specific threats or activated “sleeper agents.”

The FBI has also increased monitoring for threats to President Donald Trump domestically and abroad, the report said.
