US consulate warns of imminent missile and drone threat over Dhahran

Riyadh, March 3, 2026 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – The U.S. mission in Saudi Arabia warned on Tuesday of what it called an imminent threat of missile and drone attacks over Dhahran and urged U.S. citizens to shelter in place.
In a message posted on X, the mission told people not to come to the U.S. Consulate and to take cover immediately. It urged citizens in Dhahran to stay indoors, review security plans and remain alert for possible further attacks, adding that consulate personnel were sheltering in place.
The warning followed drone strikes on the U.S. embassy in Riyadh that Saudi Arabia’s defence ministry said caused a limited fire and material damage.
Dhahran is in eastern Saudi Arabia.
