Ultra Gobi to stage first international race in AlUla in 2027

ALULA, May 18 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – Ultra Gobi will hold its first international event in Saudi Arabia’s AlUla from Jan. 12 to 20, 2027, the Saudi Press Agency reported.
The launch of Ultra Gobi AlUla marks the first time in the race series’ 20-year history that it will take place outside China.
The race will pass through AlUla’s desert valleys, oases and monumental rock formations, along routes historically linked to trade and pilgrimage.
Ultra Gobi AlUla will offer six race formats, including a 400-kilometer self-navigated, nonstop and self-supported race, as well as 121-kilometer individual and team formats.
Other options include a 30-kilometer desert experience and a 90-kilometer three-day family race for younger participants and their families.
Registration will open in the coming weeks, with detailed course information and entry requirements to be published by Ultra Gobi.
