JEDDAH, November 1 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – Vehicle engineering and safety checks are central to preparations for the final round of the 2026 Saudi Toyota Drift Championship, scheduled for November 26–27 in Jeddah.

Controlled slides and cornering depend on how the engine, chassis, steering and other systems work together. The championship’s three categories—amateur, semi-pro and pro—allow different levels of vehicle modification.

Amateur cars remain close to factory specifications, while semi-pro vehicles undergo more advanced modifications. Pro competitors can make extensive changes to the chassis, suspension and weight distribution within approved technical regulations.

Inspections assess vehicle integrity, compliance with those regulations and drivers’ protective equipment, including helmets, racing suits, gloves and footwear.

Depending on the category, requirements may also include roll cages, fire extinguishers, protective barriers and securely installed mechanical components to reduce accident risks.

The Saudi Automobile and Motorcycle Federation oversees the development of car and motorcycle sports through regulations, safety standards and support for Saudi talent. Established in 2006, it represents the Kingdom before international motorsport governing bodies.
