Abu Dhabi, September 14, 2025 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – The United Arab Emirates welcomed more than 16.1 million hotel guests in the first six months of 2025, an increase of 5.5 percent compared with the same period last year, Minister of Economy and Tourism Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri said on Sunday.
Bin Touq said the hospitality sector’s performance reflects its resilience and ability to sustain growth, strengthening the UAE’s competitiveness as a global tourism destination. He credited the growth to government directives and the integration of public and private sector efforts, which he described as a fundamental pillar of sustainability.
The minister revealed the figures while chairing the third meeting of the Hospitality Advisory Council for 2025, attended by representatives from both sectors, including executives from leading national and international hotel groups.
The council reviewed sector performance indicators and discussed initiatives to develop the hospitality industry and enhance investment opportunities. Officials reported that hotel nights rose to 56 million in the first half of the year, a 7.3 percent increase, with the average length of stay reaching 3.5 nights.
The UAE currently has 1,243 hotel establishments offering more than 216,000 rooms.
