U.S. Launches Second Day of Strikes Against Targets in Iran

RIYADH, June 10 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) - The United States began a second consecutive day of strikes against multiple targets in Iran on Wednesday, U.S. Central Command announced.

CENTCOM said the strikes were launched at 5:15 p.m. ET at the direction of President Donald Trump.

The command described the operation as additional self-defense strikes in response to what it called Iran’s “unwarranted and continued aggression.”

Trump earlier said the United States would carry out another wave of strikes after efforts to reach a deal with Iran remained unresolved.

“We hit them hard yesterday. We’re going to hit them again hard today,” Trump said in the Oval Office.

The previous strikes followed an incident in which a U.S. helicopter was hit by an Iranian drone, forcing its two crew members to bring the aircraft down in waters off Oman.

CENTCOM said a U.S. drone boat rescued the crew about two hours later.
