BANGKOK, May 21 — Thai Princess Bajrakitiyabha’s medical condition has worsened after multiple infections affected several organs, the Royal Palace said on Thursday.

The 47-year-old princess, the eldest daughter of King Vajiralongkorn, has been in a coma since December 2022, when she was taken to hospital after collapsing due to a heart condition and other infections.

The palace said doctors discovered a stomach infection in April that led to intestinal inflammation, causing her blood pressure to fall and her heartbeat to become irregular.

Doctors have used medication and medical devices to support her lungs and kidneys, but her condition has continued to decline, the palace said.

The palace said physicians would continue to monitor her condition closely and provide further treatment.
