Saudi Tech Minister Meets AWS, Microsoft Leaders on AI Infrastructure Expansion
SEATTLE, September 18, 2026 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) — Saudi Minister of Communications and Information Technology Abdullah Alswaha met Amazon Web Services and Microsoft executives in Seattle to discuss artificial intelligence infrastructure and computing capacity in the Kingdom, the Saudi Press Agency reported.
During talks with AWS CEO Matt Garman, Alswaha reviewed plans to accelerate the expansion of an AI Zone being developed through a partnership between AWS and Saudi AI company HUMAIN.
The discussions also covered the proposed deployment of AWS Trainium accelerators within Saudi Arabia’s computing ecosystem and the integration of AWS artificial intelligence services for large-scale model operations.
In a separate meeting with Microsoft Chairman and CEO Satya Nadella, the Saudi minister discussed expanding the adoption of AI solutions across government bodies and private companies.
Alswaha and Nadella also reviewed plans to strengthen workforce skills in advanced digital technologies.
The meetings concluded Alswaha’s official visit to the United States, which focused on Saudi partnerships with international technology companies and the development of digital infrastructure.
The talks addressed computing systems, AI services, technology adoption and workforce training as Saudi Arabia expands its artificial intelligence capabilities.
