Riyadh, February 3, 2026 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – Ministry of Media (Saudi Arabia), in partnership with Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA), launched the Saudi Media Innovation Bootcamp (Saudi MIB) and issued a set of Artificial Intelligence Principles in Media during the fifth Saudi Media Forum.

The announcements were made in remarks by Media Minister Salman Al-Dossary, delivered in the presence of SDAIA President Abdullah Al-Ghamdi.

The bootcamp is designed to train a new generation of journalists and content creators in smart journalism tools, including automated data collection and analysis, and the use of artificial intelligence to detect deepfake content, with a focus on speed and accuracy in news delivery.

A dedicated track will focus on developing an AI anchor, with participants working with software engineers on digital personas that replicate human body language and voice, enabling round-the-clock multilingual news bulletins with real-time audience interaction.

The AI Principles in Media document sets guidance for the use of artificial intelligence across the media content lifecycle, from production and publishing to redistribution across media outlets and digital platforms, with an emphasis on responsible and safe deployment that protects social values and individual rights.

The document was developed through cooperation between SDAIA, Saudi Broadcasting Authority and General Authority of Media Regulation, amid a broader push to address risks linked to misleading or fraudulent content and deepfake techniques.

It is structured around eight core principles, covering transparency and disclosure, information integrity, privacy protections, prevention of misleading content, accountability across the content lifecycle, fairness, public awareness and empowerment, and impact assessment and regulatory compliance, alongside mechanisms to handle violations.
