Saudi Foreign Minister Joins Trump-Convened Talks on Middle East Escalation
NEW YORK, September 23, 2026 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) — Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah joined a meeting convened by U.S. President Donald Trump in New York on Tuesday to discuss the escalation in the Middle East and threats to maritime navigation.
The meeting brought together heads of delegations from Gulf Cooperation Council countries, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Syria and Türkiye on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly’s High-level Week, the Saudi Press Agency reported.
Participants discussed the effects of the regional escalation on security and stability, including challenges to safe and free navigation through the Strait of Hormuz and the Bab al-Mandab Strait.
They also reviewed efforts to reduce tensions, prevent the conflict from spreading and strengthen diplomatic work on the region’s ongoing crises.
